I really like your tip to try and let your car rest with the engine on idle for about ten minutes, that way your car will get warmed up. My son has been gone at college for the past year, and his car has been sitting in our driveway for the past year. I will be sure to try and let the car warm up to check if everything is working correctly.

I learned the important lesson of car maintenance the hard way. I definitely did not drive my husband’s car enough while he was gone and when he came home six months later, the battery was dead. Whoops.

I have been there – I always forget to maintain the “other” car and then we end up having to jump it to get it going again. I did learn to get a battery charger to plug into while its in the garage and that keeps it good.
