I met an E-6 through Bumble, we were talking (it's real we had video calls and I even have his address) but suddenly he stopped communicating, the dates coincide with the mobilization in Minnesota for the operation metro surge, I don't know if maybe it was deployed after that, he hasn't reconnected on his social networks and his cell phone line appears as inactive, any ideas?
I understand that maybe for safety he couldn't tell me what was going to be deployed or where, but I haven't heard from him since then, it's been 4 months

In reply to <a href="https://seasonedspouse.com/when-your-service-member-hasnt-called/#comment-78486">Suzi Songie</a>.

I can't say for sure what's normal for his particular unit right now. I can say that it is common for deployed service members to go a month without calling their parents. Even when it might be physically possible and allowed, he may not be prioritizing it. If you need to get an emergency message to him, you can send a Red Cross message. Otherwise, continue to use whatever communication channels he has (letters, care packages, email, or text messages) to let him know you would like to hear from him soon.

Well if he said show as much or as little as you want, then it sounds like it's a personal choice. If your dress is gorgeous, then enjoy it and feel beautiful!

Hello, I'm being invited to a jrotc military ball, and the major's direct words were "none of you have much chest anyways, so show as much or little as you want." However, i was invited, not a member of jrotc, and I am rather busty. The dress I chose is gorgeous and otherwise very modest, but does show cleavage. will it be alright?

In reply to <a href="https://seasonedspouse.com/enjoy-military-ball/#comment-48804">Hannah</a>.

That sounds gorgeous! Yes, it's appropriate. And yes, I would recommend a shawl or wrap. Not for modesty reasons, because it's fine not to have one, but because large venues like hotel ballrooms are often quite cold. I know I feel more comfortable when I can add a shawl if my arms get cold.
I hope you have a great time!

Hi there, I just got invited to my first military ball and the dress I want to get is a dark red, pleated A-line, floor length dress but is strapless. Is this appropriate and should I get a shawl?

In reply to <a href="https://seasonedspouse.com/might-get-called-dependa/#comment-7214">TG Brown</a>.

Yes, but did you really hear your DIL's honest take on military life? I'm sure she tells her own mom how tough it is.

Where was she stationed, though? It depends on the location, doesn't it?
Typically, Marine Corps are stationed in more urban, civilized areas than the Air Force.
Air Force in Idaho and New Mexico? There's nothing around. No jobs, no supermarkets, nothing.
Also, what if you're stationed overseas? Most people I know could only get a job within the base.
Sometimes you can only work as a daycare caregiver, having nothing to do with your college or grad school degree!

Did she have kids at that time?
I had extreme difficulty finishing grad school and taking care of a baby while my husband was deployed.
I even apologized to the school to extend it. It was one of the most stressful times of my life.
